Thiksey Monastery (Gompa)

Thiksey monastery which is also known as Thikse Gompa is a beautiful Buddhist gompa belonging to the Gelukpa order of Buddhism. Located at just 19km east from Leh city, it is easily accessible via Leh-Manari road. It is located between the icy deserts of Leh and Ladakh. Thiksey monastery, Ladakh's largest Tibetan monastery, contains several stupas, statues, and other Buddhist artifacts on its 12 storey structure.
