Statue Of Equality (Ramanuja), Hyderabad, Telangana

Before we share more information about Statue of Equality, let us first share the thoughts about why Statue of equality is needed or built?
The only motive and the very purpose of “The Statue of Equality” is to promote the thought of equality across the castes in India. In the time of Shri Ramanujacharya (Ra:ma:nu:jacha:rya), there was a great importance of temple which were functioning as a centres of administration. But there was a control of one section of society (one caste) who were looking at the administration part. Ramanujacharya encouraged them to allot atleast 50% of tasks to people belonging to rest of the castes. This is why, there were no restrictions on any caste to enter into the temple.
But during the British rule on India, the casteism has increased due to divide and rule strategy and even today, there are lot of challenges because of it. The very purpose of The Statue of Equality is to inspire society to bring the equality across all castes in India. The statue promotes below thoughts about equality:

  • Equality across castes

  • Equality across social status
