Smritivan Earthquake Memorial Museum is situated on Bhujio Hill and spans 470 acres featuring the world’s largest Miyawaki forest with 500,000 trees. This memorial honors the 12,932 earthquake victims and includes a rebuilt 300-year-old fort, solar power plant, huge plantations, and unique museum featuring displays and a theater that recreates the earthquake of 2001.
The Smritivan Museum has gained worldwide popularity after being named by UNESCO's popular Prix Versailles Award as one of the world's seven most beautiful museums.
Visitors can explore the Smritivan complex from Tuesday to Sunday from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The museum welcomes guests from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on these days for various exhibitions and educational displays about the earthquake and its impact.
