The highly revered Hindu shrine Siruvapuri Balamurugan Temple also known as Siruvapuri Murugan Temple situated in Chinnambedu village approximately 35 kilometers from Chennai, Tamil Nadu is dedicated to Lord Murugan. The temple is well-known for both its tall gopuram which is covered in elaborate sculptures and its colorful Dravidian architecture. On Tuesdays when special poojas are performed, a large crowd of devotees come together to pray for success and prosperity. 

History:

According to legend, Lava and Kusha, sons of Lord Rama, unknowingly fought with their father here, giving the place its name "Siruvapuri," meaning "the place where children waged war. The temple is renowned for its unique emerald peacock statue, symbolizing Lord Murugan's vehicle. Devotees believe that sincere prayers at this temple can lead to the fulfillment of their wishes.
