Shanti stupa was built by Gyomyo Nakamura; a Japanese Buddhist monk during as a part of his peace pagoda mission in 1991.
The Shanti Stupa Pokhara, also known as the World Peace Pagoda Pokhara, is located atop Ananda Hill. It was built with the assistance of Nichidatsu Fujii, a Buddhist monk and the founder of Nipponzan-Myhji, by Nipponzan-Myhji monk Morioka Sonin and local supporters.
