Naida Caves

Naida caves in Diu is a wonderful historical place one should not miss during their visit to Diu. The Naida Caves were made by the Portuguese when they ruled Diu. They used these caves to help defend the island. The caves were used for storing things and as a place for soldiers to rest.

In accordance with folklore, when the Portuguese began constructing the Diu Fort, they cut rocks out and shaped these caves. Very strange in look, the Naida caves are made of stonework and have patterns running across them which look as if like water had occupied them once. The sun plays hide and seek with the cracks all day, giving the Naida caves a strange feel. Enormous and wonderful, you may mislay yourself in its numerous puzzling paths.
