Meenakshi Temple

Meenakshi Amman Temple is a historic Hindu temple located in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. It’s dedicated to Devi Parvati who known as Meenakshi and her consort Shiva known as Sundareshwar. This temple is also called Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple. This is one of India's oldest and most imperative temples.

Meenakshi Amman Temple is a stunning example of Dravidian architecture and it is a significant pilgrimage destination for Hindus. According to legend, the temple was originally built by King Kulasekara Pandyan I of the Pandya Dynasty in the 6th century.
