Manauli Fort is a historic medieval building in Mohali, Punjab close to Sector 83. It still serves as a reminder of Punjab's rich history and attracts tourists interested in architecture and history despite its current state of disrepair.
When Manauli Fort was first built in the 17th century it was ruled by the Mughals. It was taken over by Nawab Kapur Singh of the Singhpuria Misl in the 18th century and he was involved in bringing Khalsa rule to the area. Important in Punjab's military history the fort also saw intense clashes between Mughal forces and Sikh warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.
