History:

Pavagadh Mahakali Mataji Temple has a rich history tracing back to the 10th-11th century when it was built by the Solanki dynasty. It is a known Shaktipeeth, where the right toes of Goddess Sati are believed to have fallen. According to legend, after Sati’s self-sacrifice, her body parts were spread across India, and the Pavagadh site became sacred. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Mahakali, symbolizing strength and power.
