Jog falls is the 2nd highest waterfalls in India located in Shimoga district of Karnataka. It is also known as a Gerosoppa Falls or Joga Falls.

Jog falls (Gerusoppe fall) is one of the most beautiful waterfalls located in Karnataka western ghats in Chikmangalur and Shimoga district. Actually, the view point is located in Sagar, Shivamogga district which is 2 hours drive from main Shivamogga city. If you are traveling from Bangalore, it is located at around 411KM.

Jog fall is on Sharavati river dropping from around 830 fit height and considered as 2nd highest plunge waterfall in India. The best season to experience the fall is monsoon especially after the rain you can witness the best waterfall. 

According to people who visited this waterfall “It is very difficult to explain how it feel when you see this waterfall; one has to visit the fall to experience it”.

You can also visit the bottom of the hill which is also known as dropping point of the Jog waterfall. There are around 1400 steps to reach there and can experience the different view of waterfall.
