History:

On February 8 2009 Pratish Patil officially opened the Global Vipassana Pagoda. To promote awareness of the preservation of Vipassana meditation in Myanmar the pagoda design was constructed on the Shwedagon Pagoda. The complex also presents a museum that showcases the life and teachings of Gautama Buddha in an effort to promote kindness and peacefulness.
