Gadisar lake is an artificial lake in Jaisalmer. It was built by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 AD, the founder king of Jaisalmer. Originally the lake known as Jaisalasar Lake, it was the main water source for the region. It was later rebuilt by king Gadsi Singh in 1367 AD and renamed as Gadisar Lake. The lake attracts many tourists from abroad and continues to be a significant attraction in Jaisalmer.
